The NRMA will run a series of electric vehicle drive days during 2022 and 2023, allowing Members, fleets and the general public to drive or ride along in an EV.

With 20 EV drive days planned across NSW, EV owners and experts will also be on hand to answer any questions attendees might have and some of the drive days will be exclusive to NRMA members.

What will the EV drive days involve?

The all-day events will cover various elements of EV ownership, including vehicle showcases with presentations by industry experts, test drives with an instructor and general Q&A with those in the know.

Fleet-specific showcases are also designed to give businesses an insight into the benefits they could experience with EV adoption for their commercial vehicles.

Why is the NRMA running these EV drive days?

EV drive day events are intended to give people considering the switch a chance to experience different electric cars in the one location.

They’re also an opportunity to hear from and ask questions to our experts to clear up some of the confusion around EVs.

We hope the drive days will help many would-be EV buyers feel more confident in what owning an EV entails and also more equipped with knowledge to aid their purchase.

Where will these EV drive days be?

EV drive day events will be held in metropolitan and regional locations throughout NSW. Check back here regularly for updates.

When are the EV drive days being held?

The current schedule – running 20 EV drive days in NSW – will take place throughout 2022 and 2023.

For those unable to attend the drive days in person, the NRMA will conduct several online EV education sessions to explain the technology, tell stories of EV ownership, and answer any queries.

This initiative supports the NSW Government’s actions to halve its emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

What EVs will be on display at the drive days?

A variety of Australian car brands have expressed interest in showing off their EVs at these drive days, however not all will be present at all events.

Thanks to our friends at SIXT car rentals supplying a few Model 3s from their ever-growing EV fleet, those curious about all the Tesla fuss will be able to experience one firsthand.
